Mtonjaneni Zulu Historical Museum

The Museum is situated on the Mtonjaneni Lodge grounds, which is adjacent to the site of the Fort Victoria and Mtonjaneni as well as the Mtonjaneni Spring,  

where Dingaan used the send the 2000 maidens daily to fetch clean water (Mtonjaneni means: " Place of little water").
Officialy opened in 2006, this private museum houses 2771 registred items of the Thembani Collection.
 This collection is believed to be the biggest collection of Anglo Zulu War artifacts in the world.  Artifacts represents the following battlefields: Isandlwana, Roke's Drift, Intombi Drift, Hlobane, Khambula, Ulundi, Gingindlovu, as well as Zulu culture items, memorabilia and few Africana items. On the day of the official opening of the Museum,Dr, Mangosuthu G Buthulezi commented:

"Thanks for Preserving our History. Sibiyabonga Kakhulu."
